A former pro wrestler's 'regular guys' exercise regimen helped
an Anne Arundel man lose 184 pounds
After battling
obesity and other health issues for years, Arthur Boorman finally
bottomed out. Literally.
Boorman, a Brooklyn resident and special education teacher at
Severna Park High School, was working with a student at the youngster's
home about two years ago, when the chair that he was sitting
on collapsed under his 5-foot-6, 340-pound frame.
Unable to walk without the use of canes because of problems
with his legs and back, the Gulf War veteran and former Army
paratrooper realized after the humiliating experience that he
needed to reverse his downward spiral. He decided to give yoga
a try, and one day, while doing an Internet search on the subject,
Boorman stumbled across something called YRG.
Created by
former world champion professional wrestler Diamond Dallas
Page, YRG
- "Yoga for Regular Guys" - is a workout
program that combines traditional yoga poses with calisthenics
and isometric exercises.
Severely overweight and disabled, Boorman purchased the YRG
DVD. He started doing the exercises while leaning on chairs and
sitting on his bed because he couldn't stand on his own.
Following an eating plan designed for him by Page, in addition
to doing the workout, Boorman lost 130 pounds and 17 inches on
his waist in nine months. Not only was he walking again minus
the canes, he was running.

Arthur
Boorman is 5'8'' 297 pounds and 47 years old when he meet me...
DDP online... Arthur's
has 3 kids
... 5 cats and works over 70 hours a week as
a special educator where he teaches kids and adults with learning
disabilities... In Arthur's youth he was paratrooper with US
Army... After 14 years of service and well over 500 jumps he
was ready
to retire... That's when he got called up for the first Gulf
War ...
Unfortunately Arthur was sent home early from that War permanently
disabled. Allowing his injuries to dictate his life, he gained
more and more weight until it eventually threatened his life.
Something had to change, so Arthur tried YRG. He listened to
the inspirational
CD that Dallas Page included with the order entitled "Own
Your Life". Arthur began his exercise program, changed his
eating habits and took control of his lifestyle. In 10 months he
lost
120 pounds. His braces and crutches have been retired. He went
from needing
straps and a chair to achieve the YRG positions, now he teaches
them. Arthur is an inspiration to all that know him, press play

video that chronicles his journey, and let him inspire you too!

What is YRG?
YRG... is "Yoga for Regular Guys/Gals"
We don't call it Yoga, we call it YRG!
DDP and Dr. Craig S. Aaron (holistic sports chiropractor and applied kinesiologist) the Yoga- Doc created a new exercise program by combining traditional yoga positions with old-school calisthenics, core strengthening exercises and slow motion isometric muscle activation. The result is a workout which increases strength, endurance, flexibility, mental clarity and reduces stress ( in your mind and on your joints).
Here's a bonus: YRG workouts can even help you strengthen and rehabilitate those abused joints, burn fat and increase your cardiovascular capacity!
In order to obtain the health and fitness benefits of YRG, a normal person would need to do 20-40 minutes of cardio 3-4 times per week, lift weights for 45-60 minutes 3 times per week, and stretch for at least 10 minutes/workout .
YRG delivers the goods in just 3 to 4 workouts per week. You choose which of the three easy to follow workouts based on your ability and how much time you have. It's a total body workout, and it's all the cardio you need.
All this without a gym membership... hell, YRG just might be the best workout on the planet!!!

A YRG Inspiration
Ted Evans is living testimony as to what the body and mind can achieve at any age. Being in great shape helped him recover from a car accident that broke his back in three places at age 22. He later rode motorcycles, jumped out of airplanes and became someone who was committed to physical fitness. Five years ago at age 66, Ted was curious about the contortions and yoga-type positions that Dallas Page was doing at his local gym in Atlanta. Ted was witnessing YRG in its infancy! His interest in adding flexibility and his curiosity eventually led him to the weekly classes that the 'Yoga Doc' and his wife, Jennifer, had begun instructing. Since then, Ted Evans has enjoyed the incredible physical benefits of YRG and has been an inspiration for so many.
At the age of 71 and fresh out of knee surgery, Ted challenged DDP to a grueling 10 second push up contest in the middle of the YRG video shoot! This is the footage shot that day... Ted Evans is a remarkable man and a true YRG Warrior but I'll let you make that call.
Watch this video all the way to the end to hear Ted's thoughts on YRG.
